Camp Thunderbird's Day Camp Program is a place where campers have fun and parents find an environment that will help their children to grow in spirit, mind, and body. Our Activities are designed to provide campers with an exciting, safe, and enriching experience that is appropriate to their age, interest, and ability. Camp Thunderbird creates challenging and memorable summers... It's a great place to be!
CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT
Character Building and the practice of Christian principles (caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility) are the primary objectives at Thunderbird. Campers and staff members of all faiths attend Thunderbird and add to the diverse population of the camp community. Each morning, a camp-wide morning thought is given by a counselor. Each afternoon, campers gather in camp groups to review the day's activities and participate in devotion led by their counselors.
CAMP GROUPS
Camp Thunderbird's Day Camp Programs will provide an experience that will benefit your child throughout his/her life. Campers are placed in small groups, with a counselor. The counselor to camper ratio is 1:5. These groups are designed to create opportunities for campers to develop self esteem and personal growth, while creating lasting relationships with other children and their counselor. Campers are assigned to groups based on their age and grade in school.
