Special Ski
Ages: All
Cost: $185/1 week, $295/2 weeks
Sessions: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6
This program offers participants one-on-one instruction as well as extended time on the water. Campers have access to competition ski boats and top notch instruction. Camp Thunderbird is currently partnering with a nationally recognized wakeboarding organization which allows our campers to have access to some of the best instructors in the nation. Campers may also choose to focus on slalom, wakeboarding or barefoot skiing. The Special Ski program consists of an additional 12 hours of specialized water skiing instruction during each 2-week session. One-week campers receive 6 hours of additional instruction. White Water Kayaking
Ages: 10-16
Cost: $250
Sessions: 2, 3, 4, 5
Over the course of a week campers will travel out to the US National White Water Center for a half-day camp that is a perfect introduction course into the adventure of whitewater kayaking. Starting off with basic boat control and building confidence, campers will progress through the week learning more advanced skills, such as rolling.
Horseback Riding
Ages: All
Cost: $125/1 week, $250/2 weeks
Sessions: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6
This activity is only available as a special elective. Camp Thunderbird offers English style horseback riding. Whether a novice or experienced rider, each camper will have the opportunity to improve his or her riding skills. Campers who choose to enroll in riding receive four two-hour instructional periods during a two-week session. One-week campers receive four hours of instruction time. Limited to 55 campers per session.
Golf Clinic- New for 2012!
Ages: All
Cost: $75
Sessions: 2, 3, 4, 5
Campers wanting more one on one golf instruction can sign up to take our new Golf Clinic, Held at the River Hills Country Club. Campers will have the opportunity to get six hours of instruction from a USGA Golf Pro and they also get to play 18 holes of championship golf. Campers are encouraged to bring their own golf clubs.
Tennis Clinic- New for 2012!
Ages: All
Cost: $75
Sessions: 2, 3, 4, 5
Similar to the Golf Clinic, campers can sign up to get a more in depth tennis instruction with a River Hills USTA Pro. The campers will get six hours of quality instructions at River Hills Country Club. Once again campers are encouraged to bring their own tennis racquets.
